Psychodynamic Therapy for Fear of Being Alone Near
Boynton Beach

Psychodynamic therapy addresses the fear of being alone by working within the therapeutic relationship to provide the patient with an experience of reliable connection that can be gradually internalized. The goal is not to convince the patient that being alone is fine. The goal is to help the patient develop an internal sense of secure attachment that persists even when no one else is in the room. That internal security is what was missing from the patient's early relational environment, and its absence is what makes aloneness feel so threatening. The therapeutic relationship provides the conditions in which that security can begin to develop.

Dr. David Steinbok offers psychodynamic psychotherapy from his Boca Raton, Florida practice, serving adults throughout Boynton Beach and South Florida. His practice is private-pay with monthly statements for out-of-network insurance purposes. The office has no receptionist and is designed for privacy. To schedule an initial session, call (561) 362-9952.
